INTRODUCING FACULTY CLINICS AND GENERAL PROGRAM
The Faculty of Dentistry at Çukurova University has 8 clinics, each corresponding to one of the 8 Departments, and 3 operating rooms. All clinics consist of patient-specific areas separated by special glass partitions. Physical areas are clarified with information signs for the convenience of patients.
All the clinics at the faculty work with appointment system. Appointments are either taken face to face contact with patients themselves or through phone. Quota of daily admitted patients varies for each Department's Clinic. The number of patients to be cured is determined according to dentist number of the department and treatment periods by the Head of Department. Three of the clinics are located on the ground floor, four on the first floor and one on the second floor; each clinic is physically separated from each other by separate entrance doors through a common corridor. About 16.000 patients are admitted monthly to the Faculty. Patients who come to the Faculty on the appointment day and time make clinic secretary of Department enroll themselves. And they are admitted to clinics according to the order. At this point, patients whose appointments coincide with the same time are taken with regards to their arriving times. By the way, patients wait for their turn in the waiting room which is in front of the clinic.
C.U. Faculty of Dentistry has a position as being high-qualified Dental Hospital in the area on the basis of having dental experts in the field of oral and dental health. The Faculty is firstly an educational institution rather than medical institution. Thus, academicians in the Faculty aim at giving theoretical training to the students and support them with practical ones and clinic processes in remaining times. On the 4th and 5th grades, students serve their internship in the clinics of the Faculty as well as theoretical classes. All the clinics provide service on weekdays from 08:00 am to 12.00 am and 01.00 pm to 04.30 pm.
Patients are cured in the following 8 Departments of the Faculty in which specialist training are also given:
